Huli: In the native Hawaiian language, "huli" means to flip and/or reverse. Those who attend will find themselves on top of the world one moment, but your luck may change in an instant leaving you face down in the mud. Teams who can handle the ups and downs of the weekend may find themselves in a position to be greatly rewarded, but the rewards come at the cost of great risk. This year's theme is centered around chance and luck, how much are you willing to gamble? Can you handle Huli Huli Hopu?

In modern times the term is most often used to describe "Huli Huli Chicken", a very popular way of preparing a smoke-marinated whole chicken by slow roasting on a spit (huli, huli, huli....)
