
"1997 Flying Hawaiian Open Disc Golf
Tournament"
S ponsored this year by Innova, Disc
Golf In Paradise, the Big Island Disc Golf Hui and
the Hawaii Ultimate League Association. In conjuction with the
City & County of Honolulu.
The tournament will be held on Oahu and the Big Island.
Participants will have the
opportunity of playing at either site or at both. This year there
will be individual site
winners and overall winners.
Monday, February 17th, we will be
playing at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden The map as a GIF file.
Located on the island of Oahu, at the base of the
Koolaus mountains in Kaneohe. This is a new site and would
be considered a beginners to intermediate level course.
This course is very technical and should provide the novice as
well as the
experienced disc golfer an opportunity to hone their skills while
enjoying
the spectacular view of the Koolau range.
Friday, February 21st, we travel to
the island of Hawaii and play an another
newly developed course at Wailoa State park, located next to Hilo
Bay Lagoon.
This is Hawaii's longest course with the average hole 320 feet.
Bring a
bathing suit and or lots of extra discs, this course has numerous
of water
hazards and out of bounds. You may consider coming a day early to
get some
practice in for this course.
Golf discs will be available for puirchase if needed
NOTE: This tournament is not PDGA sanctioned.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
EARLY REGISTRATION: prior
to Feb. 4, 1997 is $22.50
and guarantees a tournament shirt and golf disc.
**LATE REGISTRATION: Feb. 5, through
Feb. 21, is $30.00.
**Please note that participants who register late may
have to pick up their shirt & disc after the event.

DIVISIONS::
We are hoping to establish 4 divisions base on registration.
We hope to have both men's and women's sections for each
division. A
division must have a minimum of 6 players registered, other wise
Tournament
officers will assign participants to a division. If you are only
able to
play one day great, but to be eligible for Site trophies and
prizes,
participants must play two rounds. To be eligible for Overall
trophies and
prizes participants must play a total of 4 rounds, 2 on each
course.
