Welcome to the home of the Hawaii State Overall Disc Championships, which will be held on the Big Island of Hawaii in the quaint town of Hilo. The events are sponsored by The Hawaii Ultimate League Association (HULA). This year's Overalls will feature 6 of the 7 possible events - only freestyle will be excluded. It's going to be a packed weekend, so please be sure to register early, and be sure to be there on time.

SELF-CAUGHT FLIGHT (MTA and TRC)
The simple version of the rules are thus:
DDC : Double Disc Court: You and your partner occupy one square of two - the other square is occupied by your opponents. Two DDC discs are used, one for each team. In short, get your disc into the other team's box - preferably without them catching it. If it rolls out or lands out, it's a point against you (unless, of course, they do the same thing, in which case it's a wash). Games to 21, win by two. Finals will be best of three.
ACCURACY: Four throws at a square target from seven different stations, for a total of 28 throws. Get as many through the square target as possible. Each disc through the square counts as a point.
DISTANCE: Five throws to throw the disc as far as possible. Your longest throw is the one that counts. Measured by distance.
SELF CAUGHT FLIGHT: Consists of two sub-disciplines - Maximum Time Aloft (MTA) and Throw Run Catch (TRC). MTA: Five throws to keep the disc in the air for as long as possible. Stop watch starts on your release and ends with your single-handed grab of that same disc. Keep in up as long as possible. Measured by time. TRC: Five throws to see how far you can run AND catch the same throw. Must catch with one hand. Longest throw successfully caught wins. Measured in distance.
GOLF: Playing by PDGA rules. 27 Holes played continuous. Each hole par 3 at Wailoa State Park Course. Get as low a score as possible.
DISCATHON: A 1km disc obstacle course. Disc must travel the obstacle course, not necessarily the competitor. Much like slalom skiing where you have to clear mandatory gates. There will be two To quote WFDF, "The course is approximately 1 km in length, typically laid out within a grassland or wooded area, with marked start and finish lines. There shall be numerous stationary objects such as tall trees and poles interspersed throughout the course, of which approximately 20 to 30 will be designated as mandatories or tests. An even mix of challenging flight paths and trajectories is desirable without a left or right curve advantage. The ideal course offers the player several tests (usually 3 or 4) and many opportunities to save time which, if attempted unsuccessfully, cost additional time. A grassy, smooth running surface is preferred with topographical change providing additional challenge and interest."
