[edit] Fall League 2009
This season's theme is Manias and/or Phobias. Every team needs to have a name by week 2.
We are instituting several new and exciting things this year. To begin with, we will have BBQ's at each night, starting during the break between games. Tomorrow night I'll be making something tasty for you all to enjoy.
Also, each team will be keeping stats. Stats are an incredible tool for individuals and teams to address areas of improvement and track progress. Further, with stats, the more competitive members of our community will have an opportunity to compete with each other each and every week. And we will be calling out who has amazing stats each week. Also, I find stat keeping is an effective way to promote team unity and attentive sidelines, which are two intangibles that make teams a lot better.
The commissioners (Jack Wade and Chris Cook) will be drafting Fundamental Skills talking points for the captains to deliver each week. The idea here is to get the whole league on the same page, focusing on particular skills.
And lastly, we have drafted a disciplinary policy to ensure that everyone has a positive experience. Please understand, we do not expect to need to use it, as we have an incredible group of level headed and experienced captains, but in the off chance that a disciplinary action needs to be taken, we want to be fair to everyone by stating so before we get rolling, so here it is:
HULA Leagues should strongly embody the "spirit of the game" as it is defined by the Ultimate Players Association (http://upa.org/spirit). Any behavior that endangers the safety, well being, or joy of playing the game of another player is subject to disciplinary action on the part of the captains of the players involved and, if necessary, by the commissioners. Captains will be expected to notify each other in the case of such behavior and work together to establish a mutually agreeable solution to the problem. In the case that such cooperation does not solve the problem, the commissioners shall have the authority to impose suspensions on the player(s) involved for duration ranging from 1 point to the duration of the league. The length of the suspension is at the sole discretion of the commissioner(s).
[edit] Registration
sorry! registration has closed. please email jack, one of the commissioners, for late registration:

If you didn't register, didn't get in touch with us, and aren't named Elhoff, but you still want to play, then just come on out and play with the Ghost team (8:15pm every night, but check the schedule to bring a color shirt that won't be confused with the opposing team...usually having a black and a white should do ya' fine). Once we see how the teams are shaking down, we'll get you on a team.

[edit] STATISTICS!?
- (updated 12/4/09)
Week 7 Stats: Scores: Steve Parish is an unstoppable Blue force, scoring 4 times in week 6.
Assists: Some goofy tall guy threw 4 assists on the Black team.
D's: Mark Chun stepped up huge for the Black team, D'ing up the Ghosts 4 times.
Turnovers: Captain Chris Stevens of Brown couldn't make the crown his own as he tied with Red's Luke Dunklee at 7 turnovers.
That brings us to the League Overalls:
Scores: Blues Steve Parish moves out of the crowd with 18, Commissioner Jack Wade falling behind at 14 with 2 weeks to go.
Assists: Tony Bender's lead is eroding. He's got 23, and the goofy tall guy has 21.
D's Brown's Simon Vickery had a huge week and opened up a 2 point lead in the tightest stat category. He's got 13, but Bender, who gets it done on O and D has 11.
Turnovers: JEss finally lost his turnover crown. His 24 aren't enough to edge out Thuy, springing into the lead with 25. More dumps Thuy!
See you all on the fields!

ABSOLUTE, PURE LAZINESS
UP TO WEEK 6 STATS!!!! still lazy...this time they're right side up, but there's a blank page after every team ;) deal with it! also, at least for me, the first page doesn't like to show up immediately, just scroll to the bottom then back up and it should load if that happens.
